Shows of the 90's

Hi again!
Last night I has hanging around in Youtube (I do that a lot), just looking for something to watch, and I remembered Alf! You've probably heard or watched it, but in case you don't know what's the show about, I'll tell you! Alf is a TV show that ran during the late 80's in the US, and it's about an alien that crashed on Earth and was adopted (so to say) by the human Tanner family! I know, if you didn't watch it, it probably sounds stupid, but I grew up with it!

Just in case you are confused, here in Venezuela the American TV shows used to take a while to appear (this is not the case now-a-days), which is why I saw it around the years 1994-1998 (more o less - I am terrible remembering dates). Anyway, it watched some episodes in Youtube (sadly I didn't find any in Spanish, and I really didn't relate much with the English voices) and they were sooooooo funny! They reminded me of why I love the show: simple innocent comedy. It was a bit traumatizing to read in Wikipedia that the actor who played Willie (Alf's adoptive father) hated the puppet because it got better lines than he did... I always thought of them as a happy family on- and off-set, and the news was just heartbreaking... (tears...).

Another show that I loved was Becker. I really don't know how popular it was when it was running (Wikipedia didn't mention anything about that), but that's a show that makes me LAUGH! I remember I used to watched it every Friday on Sony Entertainment, and that I used to look forward to it every week. Too bad they fired Reggie towards the end of the show - I loved her sarcastic remarks.

Friends! How could I not talk of Friends! I watched every episode at least three times and every time they made me laugh! And the bloopers are the best I've ever seen of any show! To be sincere, I prefer the first seasons that the last ones: once Rachel had the baby, the whole show kind of changed. Maybe it was just me, because everybody else seemed to love it even more... I remember that I used to watch the first seasons on Sony, but then they stopped showing the series and they began it in Warner Channel. Feel free to call me crazy, but I have never been able to watch a whole 30 minutes of TV in Warner because something of the colors of the channel molests my sight... the tone of the colors or the resolution or something... I don't know, for some reason it just makes me look away from the TV... (time to call the psychologist, I know).

To be honest, I'm not fond of any of the newer (after 2000) series. The first season of Desperate Housewives was alright, but after that it just got sick. Series such as Heroes, Prison Break, Grey's Anatomy, etc just don't capture my attention. I have a question: does anyone else find that ALL (and I mean ALL) the actor in Grey's Anatomy are ugly? I'm not saying that their acting is not good, nor that I don't watch the series because of that, but isn't it true???

The Nanny! (the one with the nasal voice) That one is competing with Friends as to which one is the funniest for me! I loved that series! I used to watch it every time I came back from school, and in the evening too. Caroline in the City! Remember that one! It had it's funny moments! I loved the sulky nature of Richard, and his platonic love for Caroline. Third Rock from the Sun was also fantastic. It was funny to watch how ridiculous humans looked to them (it makes you see how some of the things that humans do are stupid!)

Mysterious Ways was also great. Remember it? The one with the man with the cat that brought the next day's newspaper. It was interesting (I like to call it the pre-CSI).

And finally (for now, because I remember so many more!) Everybody Loves Raymond! Who didn't love that show? For me, Debra and Marie's relationship was the highlight of it. And the Raymond-Robert feud was just endless (and endlessly funny!).

Here is the funniest clip I found on Youtube of Everybody Loves Raymond. Enjoy!
